Peer Support We know that many students prefer to go to another young person for help, and so a Peer Support system has been established.
Peer Supporters are Sixth Formers who have expressed a particular interest in looking after younger students in the school. Many of them are Stars and Bronzes (School prefects, or boarding prefects) and all have participated in a training programme where Peer Supporters learn skills like conflict resolution and how to listen and observe body language. This helps them become attentive listeners and skilled communicators.
A member of staff supervises the work they do with younger students, but nonetheless it is confidential. You can therefore go to Supporters with the knowledge that they are trusted students who have your welfare and happiness very clear in mind.
