Welcome to Martial Arts at Battle Abbey School

Battle Abbey school run a very successful Martial Arts programme open to all ages and all abilities, beginners are very welcome. The karate club have represented the school at inter club competitions and as can be seen in the photo above came back with a good number of medals. In 2008 a school trip to China saw many of the karate club members train for two days with the Shaolin Monks at the birth place of Martial Arts, it was a truly amazing experience and one they will never forget. Kickboxing has seen two members of the school community, former School Guardian Stefania Malewicz and myself take part in the ISKA World Qualifiers in June 2010, Stefania Achieved a Gold medal and Zofia achieved a Bronze. Both were invited to join the GB squad which led to the World Championships in November 2010. The World Championships took place in Alicante, Spain. Stefania achieved a bronze medal and Zofia achieved the Gold medal and World Champion title for her catergory. We now have a number of students beginning their competing career in martial arts which is exciting for the school and FSK.

Martial Arts has so many dimensions – philosophy, techniques, skill, focus, fitness, left hand/right hand coordination improvement, flexibility, self confidence, fun and much more. To take the journey to black belt through a grading system to achieve you goal is a real challenge but when you get there is a truly wondrous and fulfilling achievement.

I hope that your children decide to take the journey to black belt.
