A Level Economics
Economics enables students to attain a greater understanding of the contemporary world, which they live. The course covers basic macroeconomic and microeconomic issues in the first year for ‘AS’ level. Therefore an appreciation of government economic policies will be attained. Additionally in the first year students will study the Economics of Sport and Leisure and the housing market.
In the second year the A2 course will be pursued which develops the issues studies in first year for ‘AS’ level further, including globalization, the European Union, the labour market and other contemporary economic issues that influence our everyday life.
This course provides students with an opportunity to develop a wide range of skills and pursue an interesting yet academically proven subject.
A range of field trips, competitions and speakers will ensure that students undertaking this course will receive a varied and stimulating educational experience. Previous trips have been to New York, Poland and Hong Kong.
